Quantifiers

Quantifiers are words we use before nouns to show how much or how many of something we are talking about. They answer the question: How much? / How many?

Common quantifiers:

• Countable noun: many, a few, few, several, each, every, all
• Uncountable noun: much, a little, little, a bit of, all
• Both: some, any, enough, a lot of, lots of

Quantifier भन्नाले यस्तो शब्द हो जुन noun (नाम) अघि आउँछ र त्यो चीज कति छ भनेर देखाउँछ।यो शब्दले “कति?”, “कति धेरै?”, वा “कति थोरै?” भन्ने प्रश्नको उत्तर दिन्छ।

सामान्य Quantifiers:

• Countable noun(गन्न मिल्नेका लागि): many (धेरै), a few (केही), few (थोरै), several (केही), each (प्रत्येक), every (हरेक), all (सबै)
• Uncountable noun(गन्न नमिल्नेका लागि): much (धेरै), a little (अलिकति), little (कम), a bit of (अलिकति), all (सबै)
• Both(दुवैका लागि): some (केही), any (कुनै), enough (पर्याप्त), a lot of (धेरै), lots of (धेरै)

Why are quantifiers important?

• They make your meaning clear.
• They help you speak naturally.
• They work with countable and uncountable nouns.
• They make you sound polite and correct.

	enough	Sufficient quantity	Shows that the quantity is just right or sufficient	पर्याप्त मात्रा जनाउन प्रयोग	We have enough chairs.	हामीसँग पर्याप्त कुर्सीहरू छन्।
					Is there enough water?	के त्यहाँ पर्याप्त पानी छ?
	no	Zero quantity	Used to show none (before noun)	कुनै पनि छैन जनाउन प्रयोग	No students were present.	कुनै विद्यार्थी उपस्थित थिएनन्।
					There is no sugar.	त्यहाँ चिनी छैन।
